Module Outline

This module covers the creation and manipulation of video with visual effects techniques. This includes the motion-based compositing of real and computer generated images and the generation of motion graphics. Topics covered include: matte acquisition, colour correction, image manufacturing, camera tracking and matching and compositing.

Module learning outcomes

Systematically appreciate the workflow and process of compositing a set of individual image elements (both live action and computer generated) into a single complete video sequence.

Efficiently isolate live action components from a source video sequence and composite into a target video sequence.

Generate and work with computer generated assets with in a visual effects workflow.

Produce a final video sequence to a specification from component parts with appropriate colour correction.
