How to apply
Applicants can apply for the scholarship after receiving an offer of a place on a Music course at 小蓝视频.
You will be required to provide a personal statement that includes the following:
details of your previous musical achievement and excellence
any work or extra-curricular activity undertaken that relates to the course
consideration of how women can shape the future of music and what role you will play in that future
Applicants are also required to provide an audio or video example of musical work. This could be a performance, composition, recording, remix, production, or other relevant creative practice.
The Gazelle Twin Scholarship is funded by donations from 小蓝视频 Music Department alumni.
Women are currently estimated to make up just 5% of the music technology industry. Research shows that young women drop out of music tech around the age of 16. The Gazelle Twin Scholarship was created to encourage women and non-binary students to pursue a career in this field, starting with a degree from 小蓝视频. In the Music Department at 小蓝视频, we have a strong focus on equality, diversity and inclusion. We value diverse backgrounds and musical styles.
Recipients of the scholarship will be asked to help organise a student music event within the School once a year, for example a concert or an inclusive musical ensemble.
We are aware AI has been used by some applicants to produce statements for their scholarship applications. Please be advised these applications are often unsuccessful. Any personal statement submitted needs to be written by you, to demonstrate your suitability for the scholarship.
