Thanks to Alison Morris (EURO, 1991) we were able to access the private screening rooms at Warner Bros. in London, to listen to a fascinating debate followed by some super networking and hospitality.

Alison was joined by Helen Boaden (CCS, 1978), former Head of BBC News and BBC Radio, and Rebecca Marshall (EURO, 1998) Managing Partner at MediaCom to talk about what it's really like to work in Broadcasting and Media as a woman, and to discuss what it's like to join the sector, and what the key skills to develop whilst at university are.

Events like these are really important for our students. Meeting alumni who are well-established in their career or going into a workplace and networking with individuals who are experienced in their field can be a game changer.

I really enjoyed the event. My friends and I found it so helpful for contacts, confidence and knowledge of the industry that we want to work in. It was a great experience and most definitely useful.” Olivia Mackrell

Of course, it's a two-way street and welcoming students to your place of work can be a really positive experience for you and your colleagues. After the event, our host Alison said: “It was incredibly uplifting to meet so many ambitious, inquisitive and engaging students. The future of the media industry lies in safe hands!”
