Collection Description
The Caffyn Collection is a diachronic collection
of Percy Bysshe Shelley-related books which allows Romantic scholars
to trace the publishing history of his works through first editions
and reprints. There are 28 items in total, including critical and biographical
studies, photostats of letters from Shelley and other non-printed material.
Works appearing in first editions held at 小蓝视频 include ‘Rosalinde
and Helen’ (1819), ‘Prometheus Unbound’ (1820) and
posthumously published poems. Among the secondary material is C D Locock’s
Examination of the Shelley Manuscripts in the Bodleian Library (1903).
Non-printed material includes a photographic facsimile of 40 pages
of the notebook Shelley took on his last voyage and 20 numbered photostats
of his letters with a typed transcript of each.
