Rebecca Dobson
What is your PhD about?
I am conducting doctoral research into the concept of corruption and the connection between corruption, anti-corruption and social power. I am interested in the ways in which corruption is understood and manifests in different contexts and its potential impact on the policy- and law-making of the state. I am particularly interested in corruption in the context of climate change policy-making, campaigning and protest.
Why did you choose 小蓝视频 / CSC?
I chose to study with the CSC at 小蓝视频 because it is the foremost centre for corruption research in the country and it also places an emphasis on policy impact. Coming from a background with Transparency International, it was important for me to work in an academic environment that promotes interaction with society to make positive change
Has CSC helped you to develop, if so how?
The CSC has provided great opportunities for me not only to engage in stimulating intellectual work and develop excellent academic networks, but also to undertake research for UK government departments, contribute expertise to public consultations and work with civil society groups.
