Autumn teaching
The aim of this module is to develop subject-specific academic practices so that you are equipped to communicate, create and research effectively in your subject discipline. It will also develop your transferable skills for life beyond 小蓝视频.
The academic practices and skills you develop include:
- recognising and producing a line of argumentation
- referencing and academic integrity
- critical reading/listening and note-taking
- effective literature/source searching
- presenting.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2024/25.
